Meet Sheri McGregor
San Diego Life Coach and Author Sheri McGregor
San Diego life coach and author Sheri McGregor honors each individual for the unique music they bring –or perhaps long to bring–to the world. In confidential sessions, clients who have been so focused on achievement that they’ve lost touch with their authentic core are encouraged to regain work-life balance and reconnect with neglected values that were often the impetus to excel in the first place. Clients who have squished themselves into spaces they thought they must fit in order to attain success are reminded through enthusiasm and gentle confrontation of their strengths.
Are you wearing a “uniform” that no longer fits? Sheri will rejoice with you when you cast it off and get your life balanced.
Sometimes, it’s transition or a sense of being at a crossroads that leads people to seek a life coach. Perhaps a traumatic time has blurred your focus. Or maybe you’ve moved past allowing lopsided relationships to steal your joy, but lack confidence in your strengths. Whatever your story, Sheri enjoys helping you recognize and own your power, get centered, take action, and move toward your highest wisdom. For some, this may mean better time management that relieves stress and clears the forward path. Or perhaps starting a business now that the children are grown. For others, this may mean clearing clutter — both emotional and physical — and getting free.
Sheri is no stranger to transition. She has come to see the value in recognizing and honoring the transitions of each day. Awareness as we move from one activity to the next, brings symbolic awareness of our bigger journeys. Moving through life and consciously embracing necessary or desired change helps us grow. This may require leaving behind persons or organizations that no longer support you or your dreams. Sheri will hold up your dreams as you deepen self-knowledge and seek authenticity in an evolving life.
A little background:
Sheri McGregor counts herself lucky to have designed her life to work from home while raising her five children. She has 20+ years of experience running the administrative and human resources elements of a small (30-employee) home-based corporation in which she shares ownership. Therein, she handled conflict resolution, safety and incentive programs, advertising and promotion. In addition, she is an accomplished commercial writer and book author, running her writing as a business in and of itself. She has led herself to produce, promote, and perform.
Like others who start out with good intentions, somewhere along her journey, Sheri found herself using her writing in a way that wasn’t quite true to herself. While she was doing what she loved (writing), she came to see that what she truly valued was the freedom to express. And she wanted to use that freedom to share with and help others. Unfortunately, the bottom line in publishing is often money, which means editorial is sometimes controlled by advertisers, or a specific niche market that binds selling writers into a narrow gap. In 2001, Sheri cast off those chains, and began again to embrace her truest self. That’s when she began unofficially life coaching other women at a website she titled Mothers Who Dream. Sheri also turned down lucrative publishing contracts she’d begun to loathe for their lack of integrity as it related to her life path. She began college studies in psychology, and started writing her first San Diego area hiking book, which married her love of nature to her writing. Now, with her goals and true self in alignment, Sheri has authored more San Diego area outdoors books, and has another coming out this fall. She also began pursuing more essay/memoir writing, to share her values and life experience, as well as writing for non-profit organizations. Sheri holds a BA in Psychology, having graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Honors Certificate. At one point, she planned a career in clinical psychology, but with a little soul searching, realized she preferred the equality and partnership of working as a life coach. Life coaching allows her to partner with people on personal growth and support them in their wildest dreams. While completing her professional life coaching certification, she is also working toward an MA in Human Behavior.
Sheri once considered herself shy. A lack of confidence had her literally shaking in her shoes, dripping in sweat, and tongue tied when it came to speak. Sheri is still an introvert in the truest sense of the word (which means she requires a lot of solitary time), but she has used her own life coaching tools to build confidence, and now feels at ease in and enjoys a crowd. Sheri appears on local San Diego TV, radio, and at speaking events to promote herself and her work. In her life coaching, Sheri helps women in transition and creative entrepreneurs gain confidence, reunite with their individuality, celebrate the authentic self, and use their\unique energy to take specific action and move toward their truest dreams.
